“The Lost Boys” is another classic 80’s film with classic (not to mention effective) musical cues. While there were a couple of good choices “I Still Believe” took the vote.
You don’t recall which track that was by name? Then recall the shirtless, musclebound sax player on stage and his ripping saxophone solo! (Who, much like the dodo bird, is a thing of the past…. probably for the better.) The artist’s name is Tim Capello who actually covered the song which was originally written and recorded by The Call.
This one was from our trip to Chicago…. Let me say, I love music, the kids are great, BUT MAN-O-MAN, I have a new respect for bus drivers! I drove the kids for the 5 hours in a 15 passenger van (picture a man in a sardine can full of piranha!)
Finally we arrived at the Chicago Recording Company (another studio with amazing history), which has played host to the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, R&B superstar Michael Jackson, Carole King, Coldplay, Sting, Timbaland, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Queen Latifah, Death Cab for Cutie, Smokey Robinson, Celine Dion, The Cure, Kanye West, Stone Temple Pilots, Liz Phair, Duran Duran, Fugazi, Ohio Players, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R. Kelly, Linkin Park, Alicia Keys, Garbage, Britney Spears, Aaliyah, Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Wilco.
It was a fantastic experience for the kids and educational to boot. While all the instruments were of excellent quality, we actually used the same Bosendorfer piano that Coldplay recorded with (basically an object that cost as much as a sports car, but in piano form).
