Four Performance Opportunities

The band program is designed to motivate my students to practice. As they learn technique, rhythm, pitch and theory the students have regularly scheduled performances so they can actually use the skills they are studying.

Formal Recitals

The students perform solo pieces that are usually jazz, classical or pop.Typically, these recitals are held at a recital hall with a Steinway concert grand piano.

Band Recitals

The students pick their favorite songs and they perform them in a full band with other students.  These recitals are usually held at festivals, ice cream parlors, malls and restaurants.

Recording Sessions

Through the O’Keefe Music Foundation students are given the opportunity to record professionally for free.Learn More

My students also learn all of the songs that my band performs.  When Oregonia is playing at a family friendly venue, the students are then invited to sit in with the band.Learn More
